I was brought to yoga in 2007 by health problems, a desire for a healthy slim body and the need to calm down. The elaborate system of Iyengar yoga intrigued me so much that I joined the three-year teacher training course in 2012 and started leading classes myself a year later.

What I particularly appreciate about the BKS Iyengar method of teaching yoga is the emphasis on correct body alignment in each pose, which often involves the use of tools such as blocks, blankets or straps. Thanks to this precision in my asana practice, I have begun to become more aware of my body and carry the basics of proper posture and movement stereotypes into my life off the yoga mat. The back and knee pain that had plagued me since my youth gradually went away. Surprisingly, they did not return during my pregnancies or during the subsequent care of my three young children.

Nowadays, I see yoga primarily as a unique means of gaining and maintaining a healthy body and a calm mind, not only on the yoga mat, but especially in everyday life while experiencing the various situations that life brings.
